Otago

The Otago Exercise Program (OEP) reduces falls in seniors over 65 by increasing balance and muscle strength, and is a low-impact program suitable for any age. 

Otago has proven to reduce falls by 17% in women and 35% in men when performed 3 times/week. 

 

Otago is often done with 1 lb. weights on the ankles to slowly increase muscle strength over time.

HOW TO STREAM ISTAND

1. CLICK ON your favorite iStand program above, that will take you to our unpublished videos on Youtube.

2. (If you don't have a YouTube account, create one.) Then save the iStand Video(s) to your "Favorites".                                      

3. Then, to stream from another device besides your computer, log on to YouTube through the app on your Apple TV, Fire, Smart TV, XBox, Roku, or any streaming device that you own and use regularly. There will be a Youtube app on all of these. Once you're logged onto your YouTube account with your YouTube ID and Password through the chosen device, the iStand videos will be saved in your Favorites, and you can access them through your television.


Falls are often caused by dehydration.  Make sure you have some WATER with you throughout the day!
